Incredibly enough, my visit to Lisbon this year, was also my first to the Portuguese capital. After just a few hours, I found myself wondering why I hadn’t been here before. Lisbon is a beautiful city with its signature cobblestones, colourful wall tiles, old trams, steep streets and interesting people. Great beaches are nearby and you’re guaranteed a plentiful dose of sunshine.
I’m already looking forward to returning.
The Ponte 25 de Abril - 25th of April bridge - bears a striking resemblance to San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge because of its colour and somewhat similar design and dimensions. However, the company that built the Ponte 25 de Abril bridge didn’t build the Golden Gate Bridge - but the San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge as a matter of fact.
The Ponte 25 de Abril bridge connects Lisbon with the municipality of Almada south of the Tejo river.
Somehow the people of Lisbon are always colour-coordinated with their surroundings. Kudos.

They don’t call Lisbon “Cidade das Sete Colinas” - City of the Seven Hills - for nothing. But my strenuous walks were rewarded with magnificient viewpoints.
